"Annabella Discusses the Woman's Side of the Story"

Last month Screen Guide told its readers why Ty Power wanted to be in the scrap as a fighting Marine. Now the editors bring you the story of the woman he leaves behind--Annabella.

Annabella is young, blonde and beautiful. When she marrried Ty in April, 1939, she was a star--here and in England. But the day she became Mrs. Tyrone Power, she renounced her film career. Marriage was no part-time job with her. she never once said, "When I was in pictures...." to Ty during their three years of happy married life. From her wedding day until the time Ty completed "Crash Dive," his last film for the duration, she was first, last and always Ty's wife.

Separation from her husband is not one bit less harsh for Annabella than thousands of other American women. But she will shed no tears for Ty Power. Instead she will remember the wonderful times they had together, keep busy while he is away and plan for his return.

"Now that Ty is going into the service, I am going back to work," she says. "But I have decided not to give up our house. There are so many wonderful memories in it I could not bear to think of anyone else living there. I can look across the lawn and see Ty and me walking there just as we did the first day we were married.

"He'll come back and things will be the same again. Every woman must believe that in her heart!"
